Viktor & Rolf's sweet perfume for those with a sweet tooth

A few days ago we finally put our DIVAIN-575 on sale, a equivalent perfume Bonbon by Viktor & Rolf . Using perfume can become a new, far from routine aromatic experience; this feminine fragrance seeks to convey the true meaning of sensuality.

Olfactory notes of the perfume

  • Top notes: Mandarin, orange, peach.
  • Heart: Caramel, jasmine, orange blossom.
  • Base notes: Cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood, amber.

The story of Viktor & Rolf's most edible perfume

Bonbon, by Dutch fashion brand Viktor & Rolf, is a women's perfume launched in 2014. With a name like its own, its aroma had to be sweet, with caramel notes that mature and become more intense. Just like a bonbon, this fragrance is delicious, edible.

This perfume is the successor to a previous Viktor & Rolf fragrance, Flowerbomb (created in 2005). For this fashion brand, it was a challenge to improve its star product. With Bonbon, they wanted to distinguish women with a fragrance that was just as attractive, but with an absolutely original personality.

The perfumers set out to create “something fresh and natural that conveyed sensuality” and, most importantly, was very sweet. Caramel notes are very present in the fragrance from start to finish, like when sugar darkens in a pan. To balance it out, the perfumers included woody notes in the base and a hint of orange blossom and jasmine in the middle of the fragrance, but despite everything, it smells 100% sweet.

This edible aspect definitely sets it apart from other perfumes of its kind. It is as sugary as Flowerbomb (also available in our catalogue, DIVAIN-166), but definitely more sophisticated than its predecessor. It is like a very sweet dessert that would never be included in a children's menu.
