Specifically, the author emphasizes avoiding the use of curling products that contain silicones, sulfates , mineral oils, waxes, dehydrating alcohols, etc. She also does not recommend the use of devices that emit heat such as hair dryers or flat irons.
What does this hair routine consist of?
- The first step in this hair care routine is to properly wash your hair to remove harmful compounds that accumulate in it, such as silicones. This stage is known as the "Final Wash" and the success of the rest of the hair treatment will depend on it. To perform an effective Final Wash, you need to use a sulfate-free, silicone-free shampoo . It is recommended to repeat this step 2-3 times.
- Shampoo with sulfates is only used in the Final Wash stage of the treatment. From here on, you should wash your hair with products that do not contain sulfates . This way, a deeper and healthier clean will be achieved.
- After washing your hair, you should apply a mask or conditioner to the ends to avoid the tangles that are characteristic of any curly hair. It is recommended that you use your hands to help you apply this product, although you can also use a wide-toothed comb.
